Chrome extension  ·  free  ·  no account

It catches the mistake before Chrome does.

It tells you which word, and why.

Then it gets out of your way.

Every field you type in, checked on your own machine in about a millisecond — with your own words in the dictionary.

Not a silent rewrite. The underline says which rule you tripped, and you pick the fix.

A clean field shows nothing at all. No button, no badge, no border — that is the whole design rule.

Everything on-device is free forever. No key, no cap, no trial.

Module two  ·  dictation

Press one key. Say the sentence.

It lands where your cursor was.

Whisper runs inside the extension, on your computer. The model downloads once, then it works with the network off.

Email, forms, chat, docs, code editors — any text box, in 18 languages. Your audio is never uploaded.

This is not a promise about how we handle your data. It is a description of where the code runs.

The detail

Two tiers, and you control the switch.

Everything you see as you type runs on your device and costs nothing. The AI tier only ever runs when you click a menu item.

On device · always free

Spelling and grammar as you type

A 60,000-word frequency dictionary with edit-distance and keyboard-adjacency ranking, plus around 120 conservative grammar rules. No model, no network, no request per keystroke.

  • Your vocabulary counts. Names, places and jargon you add are known to us and invisible to Chrome’s checker.
  • The confusable pairs. their / there / they’re, its / it’s, your / you’re, to / too, then / than.
  • Style rules stay off until you turn them on. Anything arguable is opt-in.
  • Chrome’s own squiggle stands down on fields we cover, so you only ever see one underline.
Right-click · your own key

AI on the sentence you selected

Highlight text, right-click, choose Check tone, Rewrite, Fix grammar, Shorten or Summarize. Replace goes through the normal insert path, so the page’s own undo still works.

  • Never on a keystroke. A menu click is the only thing that sends text to a provider.
  • Bring your own key. A free Groq key or a Gemini key, stored on your device, sent only to the provider it belongs to.
  • No key, no problem. Every underline, every fix and all of dictation work without one.
Two modulesWriting and Dictation switch on and off separately. Turn Dictation off and there is no microphone code on the page. Turn Writing off and there is no checker.
PasswordsSkipped entirely. So are card, payment and one-time-code fields.
A site it has not seenOff, until you say yes once. Admin portals and banking are never even asked about.
Package sizeUnder six megabytes for the checker — rules and a word list, not a model. Whisper downloads once, on first use.
Editors it cannot underlineGoogle Docs, Slides, Canva and Figma draw their own text. Right-click AI still works there; dictation always works.

For schools and districts

Made for classrooms. Easy on IT.

Students get their ideas out of their heads and onto the page — by speaking them, or by writing with a checker that explains the fix instead of silently rewriting it. IT gets an extension that pushes through the Google Admin console like any other, with the same extension ID forever, so an update never needs re-approval.

Students who think faster than they typeDictation works in Google Docs, Classroom and Canvas. A natural fit for accommodations, younger writers and multilingual learners — 18 languages.
Coaching, not cheatingThe checks underline the mistake and say why, and the student chooses the fix. AI rewriting is separate, optional, and only works once an adult has set up a key.
Nothing to collectWhat a student types is never sent anywhere for checking. No student account is needed, ever.
The Chromebooks you already haveRules and a word list, not a model, for the checks. Low-memory machines fall back to CPU automatically.
Stays out of the SISPowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward and other student information systems are excluded outright.
Permissions, one line eachThe page it was invoked on, the microphone, its own settings, the side panel, the right-click menu. Nothing else at install.

Install it. It will be quiet until it isn’t.

Free, no account, no key, no trial. Add it and start typing — the first misspelling you make is the demo.
